📘 A. Comparing Two People

Dalam bahasa Inggris, kita menggunakan comparative adjectives untuk membandingkan dua orang atau benda.

🔹 Pattern (Pola Kalimat)

• Subject + to be + adjective + -er + than + object
• Subject + to be + more + adjective + than + object

🔹 Examples (Contoh)

• Sam is heavier than Jeff.
• Jeff is taller than Sam.
• Jeff is a better actor than Sam.
• Sam is more hardworking than Jeff.

🔹 Note (Catatan)

• Kata sifat pendek → tambah -er (tall → taller)
• Kata sifat panjang → gunakan more (beautiful → more beautiful)
• Beberapa bentuk tidak beraturan:
• good → better
• bad → worse

 

📘 B. Expressing Agreement and Disagreement

🔹 Agreeing (Menyatakan Setuju)

Gunakan ungkapan berikut:

• I agree.
• You’re right.
• That’s true.
• I think so too.

Example:

• A: Jeff is a better actor than Sam.
• B: I agree.

 

🔹 Disagreeing (Menyatakan Tidak Setuju)

Gunakan ungkapan berikut:

• I don’t agree.
• I disagree.
• I’m not sure about that.
• I don’t think so.

Example:

• A: Sam is smarter than Jeff.
• B: I don’t think so.
