Hari ini kita akan belajar tentang adjectives, yaitu kata sifat yang digunakan untuk menjelaskan kata benda (noun).

Misalnya:

• a red apple 🍎
• a big house 🏠
• a happy child 😊

Kata red, big, dan happy itulah yang disebut adjectives.

💡 Apa itu Adjective?

Adjective adalah kata yang memberi keterangan atau deskripsi tentang benda, orang, atau hewan.

Contoh umum:

• beautiful (cantik)
• small (kecil)
• hot (panas)
• happy (bahagia)

 

🎨 1. Adjectives of Color (Kata Sifat Warna)

Kita sering menggunakan warna untuk menjelaskan benda.
Berikut contoh warna dalam bahasa Inggris:

red	merah	I have a red bag.
blue	biru	The sky is blue.
green	hijau	The grass is green.
yellow	kuning	She wears a yellow dress.
black	hitam	He has a black car.

orange	oranye	We see an orange flower.
pink	merah muda	I like pink roses.
purple	ungu	She has a purple pencil case.

🧠 Catatan:
Adjective biasanya diletakkan sebelum kata benda (noun).

📏 2. Adjectives of Size (Kata Sifat Ukuran)

Gunakan adjective ini untuk menyatakan ukuran atau besar kecilnya sesuatu.

Size	Arti	Contoh Kalimat
big	besar	The elephant is big.
small	kecil	The mouse is small.
tall	tinggi	My brother is tall.
short	pendek	The table is short.
long	panjang	She has long hair.
wide	lebar	The river is wide.
narrow	sempit	The road is narrow.
fat	gemuk	The cat is fat.
thin	kurus	He is thin.
tiny	mungil	Look at that tiny bird!

Kombinasikan adjective untuk memperkaya kalimatmu.
👉 Example:

• a big red ball
• a small white cat

 

😊 3. Adjectives of Feeling (Kata Sifat Perasaan)

Adjective juga bisa menggambarkan perasaan seseorang.

happy	bahagia	I am happy today.
sad	sedih	She looks sad.
angry	marah	He is angry with his friend.
tired	lelah	We are tired after running.
scared	takut	The child is scared.
excited	bersemangat	I am excited for the trip.
bored	bosan	They are bored in class.
nervous	gugup	She feels nervous before the test.
surprised	terkejut	He is surprised to see you.
sleepy	mengantuk	I am sleepy at night.
